Video Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Take charge of video quality standards and oversee QA for every video from the script stage to the final cut.

• Identify, evaluate, and manage video vendors and freelancers, which includes editors, scriptwriters, and content creators.

• Develop a repeatable production workflow, incorporating in-house editing and scriptwriting when suitable.

• Monitor the cost per video and ensure that the program remains within its budget.

• Mentor the creative producer and video strategists on production, providing feedback and guidance on client interactions.

• Counsel clients on videos designed for discovery and challenge any feedback that may negatively impact performance.

• Experiment with and implement AI-assisted editing and scripting tools that uphold quality standards.

• Deliver a video QA checklist and review process within the first 90 days.

• Conduct a vendor audit, providing recommendations on quality, cost, and turnaround time.

• Document the entire production workflow from brief to publication, including in-house pilot projects.

• Set a cost-per-video baseline and target in collaboration with leadership.

• Enhance revision rounds, turnaround times, budget compliance, and overall client satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in video or film production, including roles such as creative director or senior producer.

• Proven experience managing high volumes of video production across various vendors and freelancers.

• Familiarity with YouTube, including aspects like titles, hooks, retention, search, and video discovery.

• Strong client-facing skills; capable of defending creative choices to senior marketers while maintaining positive relationships.

• Practical understanding of AI video tools, including their advantages and limitations.

• Ability to work fractionally: asynchronous-first, decisive, and focused on high-leverage challenges.
