Vice President – US Government Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee Westinghouse's domestic engagement with the U.S. Government, encompassing Executive Offices, agencies, and Congress.

• Collaborate with associations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and other third parties to bolster domestic growth strategies.

• Leverage governmental and industry connections to further Westinghouse's advocacy agenda and promote domestic civil nuclear initiatives.

• Provide counsel to the Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and senior leaders at Westinghouse regarding political, policy, and regulatory priorities.

• Design and execute advocacy campaigns that necessitate U.S. Government advocacy or approval.

• Establish Westinghouse's presence within the public policy community and spearhead industry perspectives on legislative and policy priorities.

• Identify and obtain government funding or support opportunities.

• Manage relationships with federal, state, and local governments.

• Lead engagement in external business councils and trade associations.

• Represent Westinghouse interests in SES-level meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in government or the private sector focused on trade advocacy matters.

• Familiarity with legislative bodies, executive agencies, trade associations, and policy organizations.

• Background in industries with significant government contracting exposure.

• Understanding of policies related to infrastructure, tax, trade, labor, safety, and waste management.

• Experience in executing integrated campaigns that align with corporate objectives, including appropriations, domestic policy, and state and local relations for large-scale critical infrastructure and manufacturing initiatives.

• Proficient in preparing and supporting senior business executives to effectively communicate organizational messages in both public and private contexts with high-level policymakers.

• Skilled in engaging with prominent stakeholders such as elected officials, executives, and external constituencies.
