This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of Montera's enterprise people strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and capital allocation.
• Provide guidance to executive leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and change management.
• Develop scalable HR programs, policies, systems, governance, and employee lifecycle processes.
• Lead the People workstream for new site launches, market entries, and acquisitions.
• Drive organizational effectiveness, succession planning, talent development, and capability-building initiatives.
• Establish HR metrics and leverage people analytics for informed decision-making.
• Manage the talent acquisition strategy, workforce planning, sourcing model, hiring priorities, and headcount governance.
• Set standards for hiring speed, quality of hire, and candidate experience.
• Oversee employer brand positioning and assess recruiting technologies, agencies, and vendors.
• Lead searches for executive and site leadership positions, including selection of search firms, candidate evaluation, and executive offer strategies.
• Design programs for leadership development, onboarding, succession planning, and career advancement.
• Create performance management frameworks that foster accountability, growth, and continuous feedback.
• Direct total compensation strategy, job architecture, leveling, salary structures, incentive design, and long-term incentive planning.
• Administer compensation, benefits, wellness programs, and leave management.
• Collaborate with Finance and vendors on compensation planning, merit and bonus cycles, benchmarking, and benefits strategy.
• Ensure competitive pay and compliance with pay transparency and equity regulations.
• Define and promote a strong culture within a remote-first corporate team and 24/7 site operations.
• Lead the employee experience and retention strategy, utilizing engagement and attrition data.
• Supervise employee relations and workplace investigations.
• Provide coaching to executives and people managers on leadership effectiveness, challenging conversations, and team performance.
• Oversee HR systems, reporting, people operations, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline.
• Over 18 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior People leadership role.
• Direct experience in the data center sector: hyperscale, colocation, or mission-critical facilities.
• Understanding of workforce dynamics related to construction, commissioning, and 24/7 site operations.
• Proven track record of building and scaling People functions in high-growth, private equity-backed, or rapidly evolving organizations.
• Experience collaborating with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership development, and change management.
• Strong expertise in talent management, employee relations, total rewards, HR operations, and employment law.
• Demonstrated ability to create scalable HR programs, systems, and processes.
• Experience utilizing HR technology and people analytics.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Solid business acumen, balancing strategic leadership with operational execution.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence.
• Additional experience in digital infrastructure, technology, engineering, construction, energy, utilities, or other capital-intensive sectors.
• Experience in private equity- or infrastructure fund-backed platforms or other high-growth organizations.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification is advantageous.
