Vice President of Social

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain a strong social media presence for @CourierNewsroom across all pertinent platforms.

• Lead the national brand's editorial and digital engagement strategy to meet objectives for reach, engagement, acquisition, and online fundraising.

• Oversee the creation of graphic and video content from inception to completion.

• Monitor current events and generate relevant content that aligns with editorial priorities.

• Forge media-sharing partnerships with creators, organizations, celebrities, and social media influencers.

• Direct national social content, talent-led social initiatives, and collaborative ventures.

• Track, analyze, and report social KPIs with actionable insights for performance improvement.

• Experiment with and enhance social content, publishing, and distribution approaches.

• Encourage audience conversion to newsletters, podcasts, web shows, and other proprietary products.

• Spearhead national marketing initiatives and maintain a social marketing calendar.

• Lead and mentor the national social team, establishing expectations and accountability.

• Distribute bi-weekly national content summaries to the marketing list.

• Supervise independent social contractors.

• Report to the Managing Director of COURIER's national team.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in social content curation and creation.

• A political specialist with a deep understanding of national and gubernatorial political dynamics, capable of swiftly and accurately interpreting news.

• Strong background in political content creation; experience in a newsroom, campaign, advocacy organization, or PAC is preferred.

• Graphic design skills are essential.

• Solid knowledge of best practices in social video publishing.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, along with a strong eye for design.

• Video editing skills are preferred but not mandatory.
