This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Provide scientific and strategic leadership for pharmaceutical advertising and promotional initiatives within designated therapeutic areas and products.
• Collaborate with Account Services, Creative Services, Editorial Services, Project Management, and clients to create both branded and unbranded communications for healthcare professionals and patient audiences.
• Engage in internal scientific activities, strategy formulation, scientific/medical planning, and new business development.
• Represent the organization at client meetings that require medical expertise.
• Interact with clients, faculty, clinical specialists, and patients to support pharmaceutical initiatives.
• Lead medical contributions and communications for the development of client and product content.
• Generate innovative initiatives while ensuring scientific integrity is maintained.
• Oversee and directly create clinical content for print and digital campaigns, presentations, advisory boards, speaker programs, webcasts, videos, websites, and multimedia projects.
• Clearly and appropriately communicate complex medical and scientific concepts to target audiences.
• Ensure that materials uphold scientific integrity, accuracy, and clinical relevance.
• Review and analyze product literature and clinical data to substantiate promotional claims and benchmark against competitor products.
• Assume ultimate responsibility for content quality, accuracy, audience appropriateness, storytelling, and strategic direction.
• Present and defend content and strategy to client review committees and incorporate their feedback.
• Direct and support both internal and external Medical Directors and Medical Writers.
• Develop project timelines in collaboration with Account Services and Project Management.
• Attend professional meetings and congresses to keep abreast of therapeutic and competitive advancements.
• Facilitate advisory boards and synthesize discussions into actionable strategies and tactics.
• Conduct interviews with healthcare professionals and patients to understand attitudes and behaviors.
• Ensure the professional development, recruitment, mentorship, and retention of Medical Services personnel.
• Build relationships and collaborate across departments, senior management, clients, and clinical experts.
• Support medical education events such as webinars, symposia, and videos.
• PhD, PharmD, or MD.
• At least 7 years of experience in a direct content development role involving advertising, marketing communications, and medical communications.
• Significant experience leading a minimum of 4 of the following: advertising campaigns, pharmaceutical product launches, promotional education activities, disease education campaigns, promotional medical/marketing initiatives, digital and interactive programs, advisory boards, and key clinical expert identification and development.
• Specific industry or therapeutic expertise is required.
• Willingness to travel as client needs dictate.
• Ability to commit to additional and/or nontraditional hours as client needs arise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong presentation and persuasion capabilities.
• High level of scientific and medical accuracy.
