📋 Description

• Develop and spearhead comprehensive Medical Affairs strategies for key assets, encompassing scientific narratives, identification of evidence gaps, stakeholder engagement, publication strategies, medical education, advisory boards, field medical planning, and readiness for launch.

• Offer Medical Affairs support to cross-functional asset teams across Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Development Sciences, HEOR/RWE, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Portfolio Strategy, Patient Advocacy, Communications, Legal/Compliance, and Business Development.

• Create evidence-generation plans that promote asset differentiation, patient benefits, clinical adoption, and demonstration of value.

• Convert insights from healthcare professionals, investigators, patient communities, payers, health systems, and scientific leaders into actionable recommendations for development strategy, trial design, endpoints, educational needs, and evidence priorities.

• Direct scientific engagement with key opinion leaders, digital opinion leaders, investigators, cooperative groups, patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and various external stakeholders.

• Oversee congress and conference strategies for priority programs, including ASCO, ESMO, AACR, AAN, and other pertinent medical congresses.

• Collaborate with data science, platform, and Decision Science teams to implement responsible AI-enabled methodologies for medical insights, evidence synthesis, stakeholder mapping, scientific communication, and measuring medical impact.

• Develop medical communication strategies, which include publications, congress abstracts and presentations, lexicons, scientific platforms, FAQs, medical information content, and internal scientific training.

• Design and construct a structured, scalable Medical Affairs organization as the portfolio advances.

• Establish governance, operating rhythms, vendor partnerships, performance metrics, and compliant processes that support growth from clinical-stage development to launch readiness.

• Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and work collaboratively with leaders across Development, Regulatory, Development Sciences, Clinical Operations, Data Science, Biology, Chemistry, Portfolio Strategy, Communications, Legal/Compliance, and future commercialization functions.


⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced clinical or scientific degree is required; an MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred.

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including significant leadership experience in Medical Affairs.

• Proven experience in building and leading Medical Affairs strategy for clinical-stage or launch-stage assets, preferably in oncology, rare diseases, immunology, or other specialized therapeutic areas.

• Demonstrated ability to lead integrated evidence planning, including RWE, HEOR, epidemiology, burden-of-disease, natural history, treatment patterns, outcomes, and value-focused studies.

• A strong understanding of drug development from early clinical phases through to launch readiness and lifecycle planning.

• A record of engaging KOLs, investigators, patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, payers/HTA stakeholders, and other external experts through compliant scientific exchanges.

• Experience in developing scientific platforms, publication plans, congress strategies, advisory boards, medical education initiatives, and medical information resources.

• A solid working knowledge of compliance expectations, including scientific exchanges, medical reviews, publication practices, advisory board governance, and interactions with healthcare professionals both in the US and globally.

• Ability to work remotely from the United States.
