Associate Vice President – US Policy Campaigns

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Report to the Vice President, Head of US Policy

• Promote policy priorities at both federal and state levels

• Manage the development and execution of comprehensive policy campaigns

• Identify strategic partnerships that support US policy initiatives

• Engage stakeholders to generate momentum for action from policymakers

• Enhance key policy arguments and resources with external stakeholders

• Collaborate with business units and Government Affairs teams to achieve preferred policy outcomes

• Create coordinated policy-shaping plans aligned with enterprise-wide goals

• Develop and implement tools, resources, analytics, and strategic partnerships

• Craft cohesive policy narratives that address emerging threats

• Formulate tactics to generate public support for policy changes

• Involve internal and external stakeholders to build consensus around strategic actions and advocacy initiatives

• Lead and manage external consultants

• Foster support for the value of prescription drugs and initiatives to restore public trust in science

• Integrate stakeholder feedback into strategic planning

• Collaborate with business unit corporate affairs teams on policy objectives and shaping efforts

• Develop, influence, and direct coalitions involving multiple stakeholders

• Utilize external relationships to pinpoint emerging issues, regulatory and legislative trends, and political risks

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with a Master's degree in the biopharmaceutical industry, trade association, government, stakeholder organization, academic think tank, or payer organization preferred

• A Bachelor's degree combined with 10+ years of experience may serve as an alternative to a Master's degree

• Proven innovation and self-starter capabilities

• Ability to drive action through relationship-building and collaborative, cross-functional efforts

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment

• Excellent oral presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information accurately and concisely

• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

• Thorough understanding of political and regulatory landscapes

• Established track record of building relationships with industry associations and other stakeholders

• Experience in designing and executing integrated public affairs strategies

• Strong strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to anticipate and address emerging challenges and opportunities

• Willingness to travel 15%-30%
