This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee the strategic expansion of B&D's Public K-12 practice throughout Texas.

• Cultivate and sustain executive-level relationships with leaders in school districts, including superintendents, CFOs, facilities directors, and board members.

• Formulate and implement market growth strategies to enhance B&D's visibility, influence, and market share across Texas.

• Recognize emerging trends, funding prospects, enrollment changes, capital planning necessities, and other factors affecting Texas K-12 facilities and infrastructure decisions.

• Act as a trusted advisor regarding facility planning, capital programs, development strategies, and their execution.

• Direct business development activities, encompassing client engagement, opportunity identification, pursuit strategies, conference participation, presentations, and industry involvement.

• Collaborate with regional leadership to devise effective pursuit strategies, staffing plans, project strategies, scope development, and client engagement initiatives.

• Work alongside project teams to ensure successful delivery, exceptional client experiences, and long-term client retention.

• Contribute to thought leadership through speaking opportunities, publications, conference participation, and involvement with industry associations.

• Identify hiring, resource, and capability-building opportunities that enhance B&D's K-12 presence in Texas.

• Mentor and develop staff to cultivate the next generation of K-12 leaders.

• Participate in firmwide strategic initiatives and cross-regional collaboration.

• Lead through influence, collaboration, and relationship-building within a matrixed organization.

• Balance responsibilities in business development, client leadership, and project execution.

• Encourage partnerships among regional, practice, and industry leaders.

• Promote accountability while sustaining a collaborative and entrepreneurial leadership approach.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, education, planning, engineering, business, real estate, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of professional experience in planning, advisory services, owner's representation, program management, architecture, engineering, construction, or related sectors.

• Extensive experience serving Public K-12 clients in Texas.

• Established relationships and credibility with Texas school district leaders and decision-makers.

• Proven success in business development, expanding client portfolios, and securing new projects.

• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing intricate client engagements.

• Strong grasp of Texas K-12 funding mechanisms, capital planning processes, bond programs, procurement methods, and facilities planning.

• Exceptional presentation, communication, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution.

• Willingness to travel across Texas as required.

• Recognized as a thought leader in the Texas Public K-12 sector.

• Active involvement in organizations such as TASA, TASB, TASBO, or other K-12 industry associations.

• Experience in leading major capital improvement programs, districtwide facilities assessments, educational planning initiatives, or large-scale development projects.

• Strong professional network across school districts, charter networks, educational organizations, and industry partners.

• Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

• Experience in consulting, advisory, owner's representation, or professional services environments.

• Ability to identify future market opportunities and position organizations for sustained growth.
