Vice President – Healthcare Innovations

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer and Chief Growth Officer to develop and implement innovative business plans and strategies.

• Identify opportunities for business development and establish a strong pipeline for the HI Program.

• Assist in achieving financial and business development objectives for the Program Office.

• Oversee the execution and management of projects, personnel, and business initiatives within the HI Program.

• Act as a subject matter expert in health economics, healthcare delivery and payment reform, Medicare/Medicaid policy, data analytics, and healthcare quality measurement.

• Provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare delivery and payment models utilizing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches.

• Contribute to operational planning and annual budgeting processes; implement budgets and plans for the HI Program.

• Support goals related to staff engagement, development, and client satisfaction.

• Lead workforce planning, staffing, professional development, and strategies aimed at attracting and retaining a high-performing team.

• Represent AIR to clients, partners, staff, and stakeholders; cultivate relationships with teaming partners, subcontractors, and consultants.

• Establish trusted-advisor relationships with client organizations and CMS personnel, anticipating client needs and providing insights and solutions.

• Collaborate with Program Office leadership to foster a culture consistent with the organization’s mission and values.

• Enhance AIR’s reputation externally in conjunction with the Communications and Public Affairs Office.

• Shape the program’s vision and strategic direction, participating actively in the Program Office Leadership Team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree in Health Economics, Health Services Research, or a related discipline.

• At least 20 years of comprehensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating healthcare delivery and payment programs and policies.

• A minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.

• Subject matter expertise in health economics and the implementation and evaluation of healthcare delivery and payment models, including CMMI models.

• Proven success in leading proposals, securing contract work, and managing teams.

• Capability to lead multidisciplinary teams of health economists, data scientists, quantitative researchers, and qualitative researchers on large-scale federal health initiatives.

• Experience in designing and successfully managing multiple complex and innovative healthcare payment and delivery model projects.

• Knowledge of the professional services industry with business development experience in federal and/or state government contracting and/or foundations.

• Demonstrated program leadership and high-level management experience with a proven record of delivering results.

• Exceptional planning, analytical, and process-oriented skills, along with disciplined program management.

• Dedication to the institution’s mission and financial sustainability.

• Experience in developing and executing strategic direction and evaluating progress against established objectives.

• Ability to build rapport with and lead both internal staff and external subcontractor and consultant teams.

• Experience in team integration and leading through transitions.

• Commitment to staff development and creating leadership opportunities.

• Flexibility and capacity to manage change and adapt to evolving circumstances and needs.

• Outstanding communication skills with both internal and external audiences.

• Recognized thought leader through publications, presentations, advisory roles, or other contributions to healthcare policy and research.

• Must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S.; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

• May be required to meet residency requirements based on project work.

• Must comply with child safeguarding standards and undergo reference and background checks.
