This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Take charge of the comprehensive execution of 3β8 concurrent utility-scale solar and BESS projects, from mobilization to COD.
β’ Ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery in alignment with contracted schedules, approved cost baselines, and quality benchmarks.
β’ Deploy and oversee embedded project management teams and field construction managers at active job sites.
β’ Establish and maintain standardized project controls, reporting intervals, and escalation procedures across the portfolio.
β’ Sustain a portfolio-level construction dashboard for COO visibility into schedule, cost, safety, and quality metrics.
β’ Hold EPC contractors accountable for meeting milestone schedules, performance guarantees, quality expectations, and safety obligations.
β’ Manage change orders during the construction phase, including scope, schedule, cost impact analysis, negotiation, and escalation.
β’ Evaluate EPC performance shortfalls and initiate remediation strategies in collaboration with Legal and the COO.
β’ Oversee subcontractor approvals, interface coordination, and performance management.
β’ Conduct root cause analyses and share insights to enhance safety, quality, schedule, and cost efficiency.
β’ Lead weekly and monthly construction progress assessments, including earned value analysis, cost-to-complete evaluations, and schedule recovery strategies.
β’ Own the construction HSE program and uphold site safety standards.
β’ Supervise quality assurance and quality control initiatives.
β’ Ensure compliance with environmental permits, NPDES/stormwater regulations, and agency commitments.
β’ Carry out site visits and safety audits; oversee incident investigations and tracking of corrective actions.
β’ Manage pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, performance testing, acceptance testing, and punch list closure.
β’ Coordinate the achievement of COD with interconnection authorities, offtakers, and project finance teams.
β’ Execute documented COD handoffs to Asset Management, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranties, and punch list items.
β’ Maintain cost tracking, invoice assessments, forecasts-to-complete, critical path analyses, contingency drawdowns, and budget variance reports.
β’ Coordinate construction draw requisition packages and lender construction monitoring activities.
β’ Collaborate with utilities, transmission owners, and ISOs regarding interconnection, outages, and energization.
β’ Coordinate with local authorities, land agents, and community stakeholders.
β’ Provide construction status updates to the COO, lenders, independent engineers, and tax equity partners.
β’ 12+ years of advancing project management and construction leadership experience in utility-scale power generation or renewable energy.
β’ 5+ years in a senior construction leadership position overseeing multi-project portfolios at a 500 MW+ annual scale.
β’ Proven history of delivering utility-scale solar PV projects of 100 MW or larger, from NTP to COD.
β’ Comprehensive experience managing EPC contracts during active construction, including change order management, performance enforcement, and claims mitigation.
β’ In-depth knowledge of utility-scale solar PV and BESS construction sequencing, civil and electrical scopes, and commissioning procedures.
β’ Proficient in construction project controls, Primavera P6 / MS Project scheduling, earned value management, and cost forecasting.
β’ Familiar with interconnection construction milestones, utility coordination requirements, and energization procedures.
β’ Understanding of OSHA construction safety standards, environmental compliance obligations, and incident management protocols.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
β’ PMP certification is highly desirable.
β’ Experience in battery energy storage system construction and commissioning is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with multiple ISO/RTO markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, SPP, etc.) is advantageous.
β’ Experience managing lender construction monitoring processes, independent engineer site visits, and draw requisition packages is preferred.
β’ Six Sigma or Lean Construction certification is advantageous.
β’ Background in both EPC contractor and project owner roles is preferred.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel 25β50% of the time to domestic locations.
β’ Decisive field leadership and credibility with large EPC organizations.
β’ Strong contract administration capabilities.
β’ Excellent skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with Pre-Construction, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Asset Management teams.
β’ Exceptional communication skills at the executive level.
