This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance the long-term performance and financial returns of the company’s renewable energy operating portfolio.
• Monitor portfolio-wide energy production, availability, and performance ratio metrics against established baselines.
• Oversee relationships with third-party O&M service providers, ensuring performance accountability, SLA adherence, and contract compliance.
• Direct the planning of corrective and preventive maintenance, manage outage coordination, and enhance equipment reliability programs.
• Execute remote monitoring and SCADA-driven performance analytics to detect and rectify underperformance issues.
• Lead the development of the annual O&M budget and implement cost control measures across the operational fleet.
• Ensure compliance with PPA contracts and oversee revenue metering, billing, and settlement processes.
• Spearhead battery storage dispatch optimization and revenue stacking strategies.
• Manage curtailment tracking, utility/ISO dispute resolution, and strategies for curtailment mitigation.
• Identify and seek out participation opportunities in grid services.
• Coordinate merchant revenue management and hedging strategies for uncontracted assets.
• Take ownership of operating expense budgets and initiatives focused on cost reduction.
• Prepare comprehensive reporting packages for project lenders, tax equity partners, and offtakers.
• Ensure compliance with lender covenants, including DSCR, insurance obligations, and reserve accounts.
• Oversee warranty management, insurance claims, and planning for major maintenance reserves.
• Assist with diligence requests and annual audits from tax equity and financing partners.
• Manage the transition from construction to operations, ensuring receipt of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and warranty registrations.
• Lead planning efforts for repowering, equipment upgrades, and initiatives aimed at extending asset life.
• Oversee decommissioning planning and ensure compliance with bond/security obligations.
• Support M&A diligence activities through technical and operational assessments.
• Ensure adherence to NERC standards, FERC reporting requirements, and utility tariffs.
• Manage property tax appeals and compliance with real estate obligations.
• Supervise environmental compliance obligations for operational assets.
• Coordinate regulatory filings, compliance with interconnection agreements, and renewal of permits.
• Direct asset management information systems, performance databases, and reporting platforms.
• Promote the adoption of predictive analytics and machine learning for enhanced performance forecasting and maintenance optimization.
• Ensure data integrity across metering, SCADA, and financial reporting systems.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in renewable energy operations, asset management, or power project management.
• At least 5 years in a senior asset management position with direct responsibility for operating portfolios exceeding 500 MW.
• Proven track record in managing third-party O&M providers and handling project-level financial reporting.
• Direct experience with project finance structures, lender reporting obligations, and tax equity partnership requirements.
• Strong understanding of solar PV and BESS performance metrics, degradation modeling, and operational benchmarking.
• In-depth expertise in power market operations, ISO settlement processes, and ancillary service markets.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, asset management platforms (such as PowerFactors, Greenbyte, Locus Energy), and PI historians.
• Proficient in financial modeling, budget management, and operating performance reporting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
• Experience with BESS operations and dispatch optimization in ISO/RTO markets.
• Background in NERC compliance and utility-scale generation operations.
• Experience managing portfolios across various ISO/RTO markets (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, etc.).
• Strong commercial acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between technical performance and financial returns.
