This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement the strategy for field operations to achieve installation volumes, quality standards, and margin objectives throughout Canada and the United States.
• Guide, mentor, and ensure accountability among General Managers overseeing each branch, while monitoring KPIs related to installations, revenue, NPS, safety, and crew compliance.
• Establish the organizational structure for the field and define roles, while developing a pool of leaders for upcoming markets.
• Take ownership of installation quality and first-time-right performance, minimizing callbacks, rework, and warranty expenses.
• Manage the Health & Safety program, including incident reporting, investigations, and adherence to OSHA, WorkSafeBC, and local regulations.
• Ensure that licensing, permitting, and inspection obligations are fulfilled in all jurisdictions.
• Enhance crew productivity and oversee capacity planning for both in-house teams and subcontractor partners.
• Collaborate with Customer & Service Operations on scheduling, system design, project coordination, and technical services.
• Manage the field technology stack, including Zuper, to enhance dispatch efficiency, checklists, commissioning, and job visibility.
• Oversee fleet management, tools, uniforms, and warehouse operations in conjunction with the Supply Chain team.
• Develop programs for recruiting, onboarding, training, and leveling, including installer certification and apprenticeship pathways.
• Spearhead the launch of new markets by establishing branches and recruiting local leadership.
• Administer field operating budgets and branch P&Ls, focusing on labor efficiency, material cost control, and installation margins.
• Define, report, and act upon field KPIs for executive insights.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable field leadership experience.
• An MBA is preferred.
• Over 10 years of field operations experience in residential HVAC, home services, solar, electrical, or construction sectors.
• More than 5 years of experience leading operations across multiple branches or markets.
• Proven capability in scaling a field operation from startup to growth across geographically diverse locations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading General Managers and large field teams throughout the United States and Canada, including both in-house crews and subcontractors.
• Extensive knowledge of heat pump and HVAC installation, electrical scopes, permitting, and inspections.
• A solid safety record along with experience in developing safety programs and fostering a safety culture in field environments.
• Strong financial insight with experience in managing budgets, branch P&Ls, labor productivity, and cost-control strategies.
• Familiarity with field service management and dispatch platforms like Zuper or ServiceTitan, as well as CRM systems such as HubSpot.
• Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions to enhance operational performance.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the U.S. and Canada as required.
