πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Develop and manage a pipeline of transformative prospects capable of securing commitments exceeding $100M over multiple years.

β€’ Identify, assess, and cultivate prospects while maintaining a minimum of 20 active relationships throughout various cultivation stages.

β€’ Establish connections within the effective altruism community, cost-effective philanthropy, technology philanthropy, foundations, family offices, and advisory networks.

β€’ Collaborate with Global Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy teams to uncover pipeline synergies, particularly in AI and technology sectors.

β€’ Operate a disciplined prospect pipeline and prioritize opportunities in alignment with Campaign 2033 requirements.

β€’ Create and lead customized, persuasive donor presentations and requests.

β€’ Transform IRC's programmatic initiatives into compelling narratives centered on systems change, measurable outcomes, scalable solutions, and evidence-based results.

β€’ Organize high-value donor engagements by convening IRC leaders and program staff.

β€’ Enhance donor-facing narratives and package the Impact at Scale offerings effectively.

β€’ Collaborate with program colleagues to ensure compelling and transparent tracking of impacts.

β€’ Partner with the COO and philanthropy leadership to develop IRC's long-term model for transformational giving.

β€’ Contribute to shaping the multi-year fundraising strategy for Campaign 2033.

β€’ Act as a senior thought partner for the External Relations leadership strategy.

β€’ Represent IRC at external forums, networks, and events.

β€’ Lead, mentor, and nurture the global Foundations & Trusts team.

β€’ Develop the Foundations & Trusts strategy to enhance institutional engagement, increase revenue, and strengthen relationships with foundations.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.

β€’ A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in major gift fundraising, strategic relationship development, investment, or a closely related field focused on securing large, complex partnerships.

β€’ Proven success in closing private transformational gifts or partnerships at the $50M+ level.

β€’ Extensive knowledge of leading philanthropic ecosystems, including AI and technology founders, emerging foundations, family offices, and giving advisors.

β€’ Strong strategic and narrative skills, with the ability to construct ambitious, evidence-based donor arguments.

β€’ Disciplined in pipeline management with sound judgment.

β€’ Excellent collaborative skills and organizational intelligence.

β€’ Comfortable with ambiguity and lengthy cultivation timelines.

β€’ Genuine commitment to IRC's mission.

β€’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting and influencing at the board, CEO, and major donor levels.

β€’ Preferred: existing connections among philanthropists, technology-sector foundations, or first-generation family offices, especially on the US West Coast.

β€’ Preferred: familiarity with effective altruism-aligned philanthropic networks, major EA foundations, key advisors, and evidence-based giving frameworks.

β€’ Preferred: experience at the intersection of humanitarian or development programming and private philanthropy, or a capacity to quickly learn about IRC's programmatic efforts.

β€’ Preferred: experience collaborating with a prominent institutional leader in donor engagement.

β€’ Preferred: MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent in a relevant field.

β€’ Must reside in the Bay Area, LA area, or Greater Seattle Area.
