This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine.
• Conduct telephone consultations for dermatological cases involving canines, felines, and equines.
• Guide veterinarians in selecting diagnostic tests, collecting samples, and interpreting results related to dermatological diseases.
• Assist clients with the clinical interpretation of serum allergy tests, skin and ear cultures, skin biopsies, and dermatopathology results.
• Provide timely and high-quality consultations while adhering to caseload and turnaround time expectations.
• Remain available during consultation service hours to offer responsive support to veterinary colleagues.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest veterinary dermatology literature and emerging best practices in clinical care.
• Engage in Medical Consulting team meetings, continuing education opportunities, and organizational initiatives.
• Retain active ACVD Diplomate status, if applicable.
• Hold the necessary state or provincial veterinary licensure.
• Accurately document consultation details within the customer relationship management system.
• Play a vital role in the growth and success of IDEXX Medical Consulting Services by providing an outstanding customer experience.
• Possess a DVM or VMD degree and maintain a current veterinary license in good standing.
• Achieve board certification from the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
• Consideration will be given to residency-trained or practice-limited dermatology practitioners with significant clinical experience for a position at a different level.
• Exhibit strong clinical expertise in veterinary dermatology and the management of dermatological conditions in dogs, cats, and horses.
• Preferably available for full-time work; part-time candidates must demonstrate consistent availability during consultation service hours.
• Must be flexible within Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time consultation service hours.
• Have experience in interpreting laboratory results and applying diagnostic information to patient care decisions.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal communication and consultation skills.
• Capable of managing multiple cases while meeting service level and turnaround expectations in a remote work environment.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are advantageous.
