Senior Consultant, Strategic Alignment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Alignment to disseminate strategic frameworks, decision-readiness standards, and innovation practices throughout the institution.

• Provide Functional Leaders with tools and methodologies for strategic thinking.

• Develop tools and templates for strategic planning and decision-readiness.

• Engage in active strategic initiatives as a collaborative partner.

• Convert institutional strategy into specific, actionable plans for various functions.

• Co-create function-specific plans during both annual and off-cycle planning processes.

• Identify dependencies, overlaps, and gaps that cross multiple functions.

• Oversee the innovation lifecycle from conception through validation, pilot testing, and enterprise implementation.

• Assess and prioritize incoming ideas based on established criteria.

• Assist submitters in refining problem statements and articulating expected value.

• Develop pilot structures, including scope, success metrics, timelines, and evaluation methods.

• Monitor pilot progress, associated risks, pipeline health, and advancement.

• Document insights from pilots and incorporate them into enterprise planning.

• Prepare organized summaries and materials for the Operations Council and relevant governance groups.

• Maintain records of strategic decisions, their rationale, and subsequent actions.

• Collaborate with Finance, PMO, Operational Excellence, and Enterprise Operations on transitioning approved initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree in organizational development, business, education, or a related discipline is required.

• 5 to 7+ years of experience in strategy, organizational planning, innovation, consulting, or institutional effectiveness.

• Proven ability to influence leaders without formal authority.

• Excellent facilitation skills; adept at leading working sessions with senior stakeholders.

• Familiarity with business case development, ROI analysis, and decision-readiness criteria.

• Experience in highly regulated academic or healthcare settings is preferred.
