Veterinary Academy Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver academic assistance through phone calls, LibCal appointments, email, and case/ticket systems.

• Create, evaluate, update, and conduct live weekly webinars tailored to specific courses.

• Address learner inquiries via webinar chat.

• Manage assigned courses within the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program.

• Oversee updates to the curriculum, course revisions, course reviews, and initiatives for course quality assurance.

• Collaborate with Product Design teams on course modifications under the guidance of the Program Director.

• Assess written examinations and offer feedback on subjective exams and projects.

• Review externship skill submissions from Penn Foster and Ashworth students as necessary.

• Assist Ashworth Veterinary Academy students through emails, tickets, and LibCal phone appointments.

• Provide recommendations for instructional and program enhancements based on course feedback, student performance, and professional insights.

• Contribute to efforts aimed at reducing attrition and enhancing student progression.

• Work together on innovative instructional delivery methods.

• Aid in monitoring social media activity when necessary.

• Participate in departmental meetings.

• Assist with onboarding and training new instructors.

• Fulfill required professional development and training obligations.

• Maintain active status for necessary professional licenses and credentials.

• Engage in accreditation-related activities.

• Provide backup coverage for instructional, externship evaluation, and site approval tasks.

• Carry out additional instructional and student support responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician who has graduated from an AVMA-accredited program.

• At least three years of clinical experience.

• Current license in good standing with the appropriate state licensing board.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact supportively with students, alumni, team members, and employers.

• Quick thinking with effective and efficient communication skills.

• Exceptional presentation abilities.

• Strong time-management capabilities.

• Proficient computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and learning management systems.

• Solid understanding of integrating technology into new instructional approaches.

• Good judgment in taking actions and making decisions within established precedents or defined policies.

• Ability to foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.

• Knowledge of and capability to facilitate learning related to veterinary technology course material.

• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

• Must reside and conduct work within the United States.

• Prior teaching experience in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program (preferred).

• Familiarity with CVTEA requirements (preferred).
