Veterans Readiness and Employment Processing Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Respond to inquiries related to Veterans Readiness & Employment via phone and virtual platforms.

• Assist in reporting student enrollments to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

• Handle VA correspondence and assist with administrative duties associated with Veterans Readiness & Employment.

• Carry out additional tasks as needed to ensure the effective delivery of Veterans Readiness & Employment benefits.

• Participate in webinars, student orientations, and on-campus training seminars concerning VA Education Benefits.

• Keep accurate records, oversee documentation, and provide support to students throughout the certification process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a current NU student receiving Veteran Education Benefits under Title 38, U.S.C., Chapters 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606, and Edith N. Rogers STEM Scholarship.

• Enrolled in an approved educational program at a minimum of 3/4 time during the work-study semester.

• Must maintain satisfactory academic standing in accordance with NU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy.

• Ability to adhere to National University’s employee performance and campus dress code standards.

• Experience in customer service and customer relations is required.

• A basic understanding of Veterans Education Benefits is necessary.

• Competence in navigating VA.gov, Ask VA, eBenefits.gov, and the GI Bill® Comparison Tool.

• Proficient in communication within hybrid work settings.

• Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite are required.

• Ability to comprehend and follow both written and oral instructions.

• Capable of completing projects in a timely manner.

• Veterans with service-connected disabilities rated at 30 percent or more will receive hiring preference for VA Work Study positions.
