Verification Scientist I, GHG Agriculture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct evaluations in accordance with voluntary and compliance carbon offset standards.

• Execute document analysis and quantitative evaluations, including inventory computations, models, GIS, and remote sensing data.

• Lead on-site assessments, interviews, reconnaissance, and evaluation of measurement methodologies.

• Produce verification reports and compose technical audit documentation.

• Supervise contract auditors and consulting professionals.

• Coordinate audit activities with clients while securing necessary data and information.

• Address client inquiries and concerns.

• Manage multiple audits simultaneously.

• Stay updated on program standards and protocols.

• Suggest program modifications to ensure ISO quality compliance and adherence to scheme requirements.

• Engage in both internal and external audit processes.

• Assist in creating quality templates.

• Contribute to the training of staff and contract auditors/consultants.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, or a related scientific discipline, accompanied by 2+ years of relevant professional experience, or an advanced degree in a pertinent scientific area.

• Auditing experience is essential.

• Strong quantitative skills, particularly in soil modeling and programming (Advanced proficiency).

• Exceptional writing, communication, and organizational abilities (Advanced proficiency).

• Proactive and capable of working independently.

• Responsive and adaptable within a team setting.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access (Advanced proficiency).

• Familiarity with field measurement techniques is required.

• Proficient in ArcGIS and/or remote sensing software.

• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally for audit purposes.

• Master’s Degree or higher in a relevant scientific field is preferred.

• Multilingual abilities are preferred.

• Certification as a CAR Lead Verifier is preferred.
