This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Oversee investments in startups under the direction of the Managing Partner.
• Propel portfolio companies’ products into SAIC offerings and facilitate sales to SAIC customers.
• Utilize data, relationships, technology, and tools to shape investment strategies tailored to capabilities and market needs that align with Ventures’, enterprise, technology, and go-to-market strategies.
• Foster investment opportunities alongside co-investors and startups with aligned strategies.
• Assist in conducting commercial due diligence for startup investments prior to investment decisions.
• Lead technical and business due diligence with finance and legal assistance to finalize investment business cases, deal terms, and valuations.
• Formulate comprehensive investment strategies and deal-specific investment theses in collaboration with the Managing Partner and Managing Director.
• Cultivate stakeholder confidence and prepare materials to support favorable investment committee decisions.
• Act as the primary point of contact for engaging with the startup ecosystem among VC, CVC, and startup relationships.
• Participate in and host meetings and events to enhance SAIC’s ecosystem presence.
• Work in conjunction with the Solutions & Technologies Group, business functions, and business units on investment theses, deal strategies, and execution.
• Provide guidance to portfolio companies regarding access to SAIC subject matter experts and the venture ecosystem.
• Generate quarterly and ad hoc reports on portfolio companies and the overall portfolio.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience, including roles at a startup or a larger company within technology, product, GTM, or strategic roles.
• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
• A strong enthusiasm for technology-based startups with a proven track record of cultivating and closing deals as an investor in either VC or CVC is essential.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills are required.
• Outstanding communication, active listening, critical thinking, collaboration, and presentation skills are necessary.
• Experience working with or for a government agency or in a military context is advantageous.
• A robust network in dual-use commercial technology, national security-focused technology startups, and the broader innovation and investment economy is a plus.
• An MBA, JD, or Master's degree in a relevant field is a bonus.
