This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Oversee the daily management of Short-Term Disability, absence claims, and leave operations.
• Formulate market-focused strategies and business plans that provide scalable operational capabilities and processes.
• Act as the Claims lead for teams involved in Leave of Absence, Short-Term Disability, ADA accommodations, and/or Long-Term Disability.
• Engage rehabilitation or clinical services as necessary.
• Develop and propose strategies and tactics for claim management and service levels.
• Collaborate across the organization and with external stakeholders to identify and address operational gaps.
• Evaluate business and technology partners, integrating products and capabilities across various platforms.
• Enhance quality, efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
• Work alongside peers and senior leadership to implement operational priorities and achieve service excellence.
• Establish and uphold success metrics that meet or surpass market expectations and operational requirements.
• Motivate and guide the Claims team by sharing business updates and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Carry out the performance management cycle through metrics, measurement systems, and accountability.
• Encourage continuous growth, learning, and improvement through actionable feedback for development.
• Promote an environment of openness, trust, inclusion, strategic thinking, and constructive challenges.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain internal control systems.
• In-depth knowledge of Short-Term Disability and Absence products, claims operations, and industry practices.
• Capability to articulate and implement a clear vision, mission, and operational strategy that aligns with overall business goals.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading complex claims, disability, absence, leave, ADA, rehabilitation, and/or clinical service delivery operations.
• Proficiency in translating business strategies into actionable operating plans, performance measures, and outcomes.
• Advanced strategic and critical-thinking abilities, including trend anticipation, risk evaluation, and sound operational decision-making.
• Over 5 years’ experience in leadership roles managing teams through Managers and fostering high-performance environments.
• Proven track record of enhancing claim quality, productivity, compliance, service delivery, and return-to-work results.
• Experience in managing departmental budgets and planning for sustainable growth.
• Ability to assess business and technology partners and integrate operational capabilities across platforms.
• Strong commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance, internal controls, and a robust risk-management environment.
• Dynamic business and financial acumen, alongside strong analytical, executive communication, and change leadership skills.
• Aptitude for building trusted cross-functional partnerships and influencing peers and senior leaders toward shared operational goals.
• Candidates must possess work authorization in the United States that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a background check and any required screenings for the position.
