UX Researcher / Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist CMS in delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout its enterprise AI platform.

• Organize and conduct both qualitative and quantitative interviews, usability sessions, and surveys.

• Transform research findings into practical, actionable insights.

• Convert insights into low-fidelity wireframes and prototypes using Figma.

• Collaborate with the design team to develop and validate solutions.

• Create personas, journey maps, and service blueprints.

• Implement Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.

• Integrate research into onboarding, training, and product strategies to enhance adoption and engagement.

• Showcase evidence and prototypes to engineers, designers, and CMS stakeholders.

• Work in a badgeless, cohesive team environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in UX/HCD research with practical design exposure or a related field.

• A robust research toolkit that includes user research, usability testing, synthesis, and the capability to narrate the story behind the data.

• Proficient design skills, including the ability to create wireframes and prototypes in Figma.

• Knowledge of the USWDS and federal CX requirements.

• Proficiency in modern research and design tools, such as Figma, Mural, Dovetail, or similar platforms.

• A strong awareness of accessibility issues and familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG standards.

• Experience in researching data-intensive or AI-driven products, such as dashboards, search interfaces, chat applications, or knowledge tools.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

• Acceptable outcomes from a background investigation.

• Strong visual and interaction design skills with the ability to produce polished, USWDS-compliant prototypes (would impress us).

• Previous experience supporting CMS or another federal agency (would impress us).
