User Researcher – Defence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide actionable insights from user research to shape service experiences aligned with user needs.

• Champion needs-based design, design thinking, and service design methodologies.

• Mentor and coach others in design research methodologies.

• Oversee, mentor, and nurture a small team of staff members.

• Manage employee performance and facilitate career development opportunities.

• Lead, plan, and execute various research activities.

• Collaborate with client teams to create relevant research plans and strategies.

• Design and facilitate workshops throughout the project lifecycle.

• Represent user research initiatives across the organization.

• Develop exemplary digital services within the Experience Design function.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a User Researcher (Consultant).

• Background in the UK Defence Industry.

• Current SC clearance is required.

• In-depth knowledge and practical application of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

• Strong understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles.

• Experience in leading, planning, developing, and conducting research initiatives.

• Ability to collaborate closely with client teams on research planning and strategy development.

• Proficiency in designing and leading workshops throughout the project lifecycle.

• Proven capability to manage, mentor, and develop senior team members and community members.

• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.

• Excellent awareness of commercial dynamics.

• Robust stakeholder management abilities.

• Desirable: experience working in a full-service digital agency environment.

• Desirable: familiarity with user-centered design practices.

• Desirable: experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
