US Journalist – Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Create timely and captivating articles for Insurance Business America.

• Generate a minimum of two interview-based stories and one breaking news piece featuring quotes each day.

• Schedule and conduct interviews effectively as part of the daily workflow.

• Dedicate at least 60 minutes each day to communication through phone, Teams, and in-person interactions, with daily phone engagement required.

• Interview and profile senior executives and industry leaders, often under tight deadlines.

• Pursue contacts, establish a robust network of sources, and develop original, agenda-setting story concepts.

• Produce thoroughly-researched news articles, features, and analyses for professional audiences.

• Leverage AI tools for research assistance, idea development, data analysis, and initial draft structuring while exercising editorial discretion.

• Collaborate with editors and management to enhance online traffic, support products, and investigate new markets and formats.

• Occasionally travel domestically.

• Background in journalism; experience in insurance or business reporting is advantageous.

• Strong interviewing abilities and confidence when communicating with senior stakeholders.

• Initiative in pursuing contacts and discovering stories.

• Exceptional writing skills, news awareness, and ability to meet deadlines.

• Enthusiasm for using AI as a reporting aid.

• A collaborative, inquisitive, and ambitious attitude.

• Must reside in the United States.

• Willingness to travel domestically from time to time.
