Urology Billing Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct analytical assessments on denied claims

• Investigate requirements set by insurance payers

• Identify problems and develop innovative solutions

• Professionally manage inbound and outbound calls

• Review reports to detect trends, concerns, and areas needing improvement

• Present findings, potentially reporting to management

• Handle denied claims submitted to insurance for payment

• Supply medical documentation to insurance carriers

• Address issues related to insurance audits

• Uphold HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards

• Independently complete assigned billing reports post-training

• Manage phone calls autonomously

• Collaborate during supervisor Q&A sessions, team meetings, and pertinent support-team meetings

• Allocate approximately 25% of time for collaboration and 75% for independent work

• Undergo training on internal programs, strategies for claim-denial resolution, key metrics/KPIs, and compliance regulations


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent work experience

• Previous experience in healthcare or health insurance preferred

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline is preferred

• Experience in analytical work related to denied claims

• Familiarity with insurance payer requirements

• Proven problem-solving skills with innovative thinking

• Capability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

• Maintain a professional demeanor when handling calls

• Understanding of reimbursement policies

• Proficient with technology

• Ability to review reports and recognize trends, concerns, and improvement areas

• Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking abilities

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Highly organized

• Strong decision-making capabilities

• Excellent communication skills

• Adaptable and flexible

• Empathetic, compassionate, and inclusive in approach

• Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements

• Consistent and reliable attendance as per schedule

• Knowledge of and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies
