Uptower Repair Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist Lead Technicians with repairs and maintenance of up-tower generators on GE wind platforms.

• Provide support for bearing exchanges, re-leads, and wye ring replacements.

• Aid in the setup, teardown, and safe operation of tools and equipment.

• Climb turbines and perform tasks at height to facilitate repair scopes.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Properly utilize and organize tools.

• Follow guidance from the Lead Technician.

• Complete all necessary documentation.

• Apply GE LOTO procedures and demonstrate safe working practices.

• Show initiative and reliability to promote long-term career development.

• Travel to and stay on-site at various project locations for extended periods.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 1–2 years of experience in the wind industry.

• Willingness to travel on a 6 weeks on / 1 week off rotation.

• Comfortable working at heights and in diverse weather conditions.

• Strong work ethic, positive demeanor, and eagerness to learn.

• Ability to follow instructions, perform physical tasks, and prioritize safety.

• Capability to travel and stay on-site for lengthy project durations.

• Must pass required drug screening, background check, and fitness-for-duty assessment.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license is necessary.

• Ability to climb up to 300 ft. several times daily.

• Comfort in confined spaces and extreme environmental conditions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work suspended in a harness for extended periods.

• Experience with GE wind platforms, generator repairs, bearing exchanges, re-leads, wye ring replacements, and GE LOTO procedures is relevant to this role.
