This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Educate, engage, and motivate the public to support NMDP’s mission and join the registry.
• Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, technical and vocational institutions, community organizations, corporations, and various service sectors.
• Enhance the diversity of the national registry through community outreach and educational initiatives.
• Plan and execute activities focused on registry awareness, education, commitment, and recruitment.
• Collaborate with marketing, volunteer services, the NMDP Foundation, account managers, transplant centers, and network partners.
• Establish and nurture connections with ethnically diverse communities, acting as a liaison between NMDP and the community.
• Articulate the NMDP mission through public speaking and written communication.
• Create engagement and recruitment strategies along with annual activity plans for college campuses.
• Organize and conduct both live and digital events centered on the mission.
• Engage volunteers and sponsors to meet event objectives.
• Inform potential volunteer donors about the mission, donation procedures, and expectations for registry members.
• Address inquiries, issues, and concerns from donors.
• Recruit, interview, screen, train, supervise, and retain volunteers.
• Monitor volunteer data and hours while supporting volunteer recognition initiatives.
• Assist patient families and refer them to relevant NMDP support services.
• Identify patient, donor, and related stories and work collaboratively with marketing and media.
• Participate in media events and represent NMDP during media interviews.
• Advocate for financial support of the NMDP Foundation.
• Collaborate with a regional team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment targets.
• Familiarity with sales and marketing principles.
• Understanding of volunteer management practices.
• Knowledge of developing in-market strategies and generating leads.
• Experience in planning and executing events.
• Ability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations.
• Capability to network and establish community partnerships among ethnically diverse populations.
• Proficient in the effective use of social media.
• Ability to utilize digital marketing to enhance recruitment efforts.
• Competence in interacting with and influencing others.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
• Effective organizational and time management capabilities.
• Self-motivated with a focus on goal achievement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Salesforce, and Internet usage.
• Bilingual language skills may be required based on location.
• Willingness to travel within the region, including overnight stays, 50%–75% of the time.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Occasional national travel, 1–2 trips per year.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a comparable combination of formal education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, or event planning and execution with established goals or targets.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Access to reliable transportation capable of carrying event materials.
• Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor or a direct connection to the mission is advantageous.
