This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Educate, engage, and motivate the public to support NMDP’s mission through presentations, awareness events, celebrations, and recruitment drives for the registry.

• Establish and maintain partnerships with colleges, universities, technical and vocational schools, community organizations, corporations, and service sectors.

• Encourage dedicated individuals to join the NMDP registry, emphasizing the importance of diversity by reaching out to ethnically diverse communities.

• Design and coordinate activities focused on registry awareness, education, and commitment.

• Collaborate with marketing teams, volunteer services, the NMDP Foundation, account managers, network partners, and regional teams.

• Develop and maintain connections with community leaders, organizations, media outlets, businesses, and local contacts.

• Articulate the NMDP mission through both public speaking and written communications.

• Discover innovative methods for community engagement and registry recruitment.

• Formulate annual engagement and recruitment strategies and activity plans tailored for targeted college campuses.

• Organize and facilitate both live and digital events centered around the mission.

• Mobilize volunteers and sponsors to meet event objectives.

• Inform potential volunteer donors about the mission, the donation process, and registry member expectations.

• Address inquiries, issues, and concerns from prospective donors.

• Stay informed about HLA and blood stem cell transplantation.

• Collaborate with a regional team to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment targets.

• Work with Transplant Centers to identify patients and families interested in supporting NMDP.

• Assist patient families by assessing their needs and directing them to the appropriate NMDP services.

• Identify compelling patient and donor stories and collaborate with marketing and media teams.

• Participate in media events and serve as a representative for NMDP during media interviews.

• Advocate for financial support of the NMDP Foundation.

• Engage with community groups to recruit potential volunteers.

• Recruit, retain, interview, screen, train, and recommend volunteers for various placements.

• Oversee volunteers throughout the engagement process.

• Track volunteer data and hours diligently.

• Facilitate volunteer recognition and appreciation initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

• Familiarity with sales and marketing principles.

• Understanding of volunteer management practices.

• Experience in developing market strategies and generating leads.

• Proficient in planning and executing events.

• Ability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, diverse affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations.

• Skilled in networking and fostering community partnerships within ethnically diverse populations.

• Proficient in effectively utilizing social media.

• Capable of leveraging digital marketing to enhance recruitment efforts.

• Ability to interact with and influence others effectively.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Strong public speaking and presentation capabilities.

• Effective organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects.

• Self-motivated and driven by goals.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and general internet usage.

• Willingness to learn and travel within the region as required (25%-50%), with availability for evening and weekend work, and occasional national travel (3-4 trips per year).

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, or event planning where defined goals or targets were necessary.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation capable of carrying event materials.

• Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor or a direct connection to the mission is advantageous.

• Bilingual language skills may be required based on location.
