This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +17 more states.
• Drive profitable new business production and expand territory across the East Coast region.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an underwriting team while promoting accountability, engagement, and high performance.
• Underwrite intricate Cyber Risk accounts and offer technical guidance on challenging submissions and referrals.
• Implement underwriting strategies that support profitable growth, portfolio diversification, and market expansion.
• Establish and maintain relationships with retail and wholesale brokers to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Utilize market relationships and industry connections to enhance distribution partnerships and drive production outcomes.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including rate adequacy, retention, loss trends, and exposure management, and suggest corrective actions.
• Ensure the consistent application of underwriting guidelines, pricing discipline, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze market conditions, competitive trends, and emerging cyber exposures to guide territory strategy and business planning.
• Represent the division at industry events, broker meetings, and client-facing engagements.
• Manage territory results and operating expenses in alignment with divisional financial objectives.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
• Typically, 5+ years of Cyber underwriting experience is preferred; candidates with significant expertise in specialty Property & Casualty lines will also be considered.
• Generally, 2-4+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record in developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing underwriting team.
• Strong technical underwriting proficiency with experience in handling complex cyber risks and larger accounts.
• Established broker relationships and a proven ability to generate opportunities through market engagement and business development activities.
• Excellent communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the East Coast territory.
