This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Underwrite and oversee a portfolio of highly intricate specialty accounts within property and casualty sectors.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the growth and profitability of the designated book of business.
• Emphasize the production of new business, management of large accounts, and development of relationships.
• Optimize profitable opportunities for new and renewal business.
• Create and maintain an active target account list.
• Oversee financial performance, loss ratios, premium plans, retention, rate/exposure increases, and commission objectives.
• Evaluate submissions, policy language, insured values, engineering and risk control reports, loss histories, contractual agreements, and financial data.
• Implement underwriting strategies, manage portfolios, conduct self-audits, and secure documented underwriting approvals.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, standards, authorities, laws, statutes, and requirements.
• Make decisions to accept, decline, or amend risks within extensive underwriting authority.
• Collaborate with risk control specialists on comprehensive technical risk analyses.
• Cultivate relationships with producers and identify gaps in coverage or risk management.
• Partner with claims, actuarial, and risk control teams.
• Travel frequently to key producers and accounts to maintain visibility in the marketplace.
• Monitor agency action plans and engage in account management, agency planning, marketing meetings, industry events, and committees.
• Collect and analyze competitor and producer-specific information.
• Suggest improvements in marketing, pricing, products, and systems.
• Train and mentor junior underwriters.
• Keep abreast of developments, innovations, trends, and emerging risks in the insurance and renewable energy markets.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in Renewable Energy or related specialty underwriting.
• Capability to assess technical and complex risks in wind, solar, battery storage, and emerging clean energy technologies.
• Proficiency in analyzing underwriting exposures and crafting customized insurance solutions that balance profitability, risk appetite, and client requirements.
• Strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
• Proven track record of generating new business opportunities and maintaining a high-quality portfolio.
• Client-focused and solutions-oriented approach to account management.
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Capacity to provide responsive service and articulate coverage and risk management recommendations.
• Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to working with peers, claims, and risk engineering functions.

• Professional insurance designation is preferred.
