This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +39 more states.
• Perform risk assessments throughout the entire policy lifecycle utilizing Kin's underwriting guidelines.
• Evaluate and adjudicate inspection results, including Coverage A valuations ranging from $1M to $2M and any escalated inspection cases.
• Manage risk files comprehensively from pre-bind to active service and renewal stages.
• Collect necessary customer documentation and address any outstanding items.
• Organize files to enable Underwriting to make coverage decisions without needing rework.
• Address transferred calls and live inquiries regarding inspection outcomes, requirements, and coverage conditions.
• Act as the risk-side liaison to Sales on referred cases.
• Oversee post-bind and renewal underwriting requirements.
• Follow up on incomplete inspections and unresolved conditions.
• Complete the gathering of RBR documentation.
• Handle escalated knockout-question resolutions and manage complex customer communications.
• Accurately process premium-bearing policy actions while ensuring compliance with state and underwriting standards.
• Convey underwriting results, declines, and additional requirements to customers and partner teams.
• Identify trends and process deficiencies that can be transformed into rules to minimize manual reviews.
• An active Property & Casualty (P&C) or Personal Lines license is required.
• Experience in direct underwriting, underwriting support, or advanced policy servicing in home insurance.
• Solid understanding of property risk reviews, inspections, and pre-bind requirements.
• Good judgment in applying established rules to individual policies.
• Capability to identify cases that fall outside the rules and escalate them as needed.
• Excellent written communication skills for customer-facing and cross-departmental correspondence.
• Proficient in navigating multiple systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited structure.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST.
• A rotating Saturday shift is required every 4–6 weeks.
• Must be able to reside and work full-time in one of the specified U.S. states.
• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
• Bonus: Previous experience with Kin's underwriting queues, inspections, or RBR workflows is a plus.
