This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Implement, manage, and expand a profitable portfolio of farm property and liability insurance within the Equine sector.
• Assist with form submissions, the development of new systems, and various processes.
• Evaluate new risk submissions, renewals, and endorsement requests within assigned authority and underwriting guidelines.
• Lead the team as the business grows and develops.
• Assess, accept, reject, or modify risks in accordance with established underwriting criteria.
• Support Division leadership in crafting and executing the division's business plan and market strategy.
• Enhance and maintain awareness of the insurance market, particularly within the designated line of business.
• Ensure timely responses and exemplary customer service for broker partners.
• Communicate effectively with broker partners to build and sustain relationships.
• Promote targeted business submissions and collaborate with brokers to gather essential information.
• Maintain accurate and updated account status in all systems throughout the underwriting process.
• Pursue professional development for product knowledge and personal growth.
• Employ independent judgment and initiative to support business objectives.
• Undertake additional duties as reasonably required or assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• 10+ years of experience in equine farm underwriting is required.
• 5+ years of management experience is preferred.
• AFIS certification is desired.
• CPCU designation is desired.
• Comprehensive knowledge of rating, forms, and underwriting requirements.
• Ability to develop and manage an underwriting team.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to negotiate and influence effectively.
• Capability to simplify, analyze, and elucidate complex issues.
• Skill in reviewing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to operate at both a high-level overview and detailed level.
• Strong time and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel (5%).
• Ability to collaborate, think analytically, and build relationships.
