This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Oversee the design of transmission and distribution substation projects for utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients.
• Offer technical guidance and leverage design expertise throughout the phases of planning, conceptual design, detailed design, procurement, and construction support.
• Stay updated on technologies, industry standards, and utility practices related to substations, grid modernization, and power delivery systems.
• Manage design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure high-quality work is completed on time and within budget.
• Assist in project planning, resource coordination, technical evaluations, and project execution.
• Provide technical oversight for upgrades, expansions, brownfield modifications, and greenfield initiatives.
• Collaborate with project managers to identify and mitigate risks while upholding project goals and client expectations.
• Facilitate construction activities by offering technical consultation, design clarifications, and resolving field issues.
• Foster relationships with utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients.
• Engage in client meetings, technical workshops, presentations, and project evaluations.
• Aid in proposal development, scope definition, cost estimation, and pursuit efforts.
• Recognize opportunities to broaden services and enhance client partnerships.
• Collaborate with regional and national teams on strategic growth initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and designers while supporting technical development and knowledge sharing.
• Work in conjunction with civil, structural, transmission, protection and control, and program management teams.
• Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement within the Power Delivery practice.
• Promote technical excellence, innovation, safety, and collaboration.
• BA/BS and 4 years of related experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Proven experience in supporting transmission and distribution substation projects.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, utility infrastructure, and power delivery systems.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience leading engineering tasks, reviewing technical deliverables, and coordinating project teams.
• Demonstrated experience with industry-standard engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, or similar tools.
• Willingness to travel periodically for project, client, and team needs.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a remote environment.
• Experience in supporting utility, renewable energy, grid modernization, or energy transition projects.
• Experience mentoring designers or engineers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives.
• Familiarity with underground transmission and distribution applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards and codes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
