This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Provide on-call support for urgent operational needs as required.
• Maintain knowledge of sensor functionalities and applications within border security operations.
• Assist with the inventory, deployment, and upkeep of UGS systems across various terrains and conditions.
• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance, including alignment, inspection, and sensor testing.
• Offer technical support during UGS operations and educate team members on system usage and maintenance.
• Identify and rectify malfunctions, replace hardware components, troubleshoot software issues, and confirm corrections.
• Adhere to established safety protocols for all maintenance and operational activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational guidelines in all tasks.
• Keep detailed records of deployments, maintenance, and system performance, compiling data for reporting purposes.
• Oversee accountability for system components, including hardware, software, and spare parts.
• Maintain diagnostic and operational tools, support equipment, and testing systems.
• Collaborate with CBP offices, DHS officials, and USBP personnel to align operational goals and ensure accurate reporting.
• Contribute to the development and execution of new UGS technologies and strategies.
• Active CBP BI or TOP SECRET clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for obtaining and maintaining a U.S. security clearance.
• Associate’s degree in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field (or equivalent military or law enforcement training).
• Over 5 years of experience with UGS or similar technologies.
• Technical expertise in UGS systems, including seismic, acoustic, infrared, magnetic, and microwave sensors, along with their components (e.g., power supplies, communication modules).
• Proficient in data collection, processing, and transmission, including wireless communication, encryption, and AI-based image recognition.
• Skilled in sensor placement, site selection, signal processing, anomaly detection, and utilizing data visualization tools.
• Experience integrating UGS with other security systems and adapting to diverse geographical and environmental conditions.
• Familiarity with laws, regulations, and safety protocols governing UGS usage.
• Ability to operate in rugged, remote environments and under adverse weather conditions.
• Physical endurance to lift, carry, and transport equipment over extended distances.
• Willingness to travel frequently and support long-duration deployments.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks with accuracy and concentration.
