English Instructor, Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the foundational English skills necessary for lasting comprehension and achieving high scores on the ACT and SAT.

• Monitor and assess student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Foster individualized growth and improvement opportunities for students.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules regularly.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exhibit professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and implement innovative lesson plans and curriculum that adapt over time.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English or experience working in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during the specified operational hours.

• Preferably experienced in teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
