This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee a cancer-related data collection system under the guidance of the Department Manager.
• Achieve or surpass American College of Surgeons and California cancer reporting standards.
• Assist in Sharp HealthCare quality outcomes reporting, multidisciplinary cancer conferences, and Commission on Cancer accreditation reports and studies.
• Evaluate medical records and finalize patient abstracts in accordance with ACoS, CCR, and Sharp specifications.
• Examine completed abstracts for precise reporting and generate discrepancy reports.
• Perform case finding, concurrent abstracting, follow-up, coding, and data entry into the database.
• Supply reports and follow-up information to administration, reporting agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Manage the ACoS Request Log while ensuring the confidentiality of records and data.
• Report annual follow-up data and assist with RCRS treatment reporting.
• Provide oncology quality data including NCCN, Choosing Wisely, pathology, cancer conference, surgery, clinical trial, genetic, physician dashboard, accreditation, and annual study data.
• Organize weekly cancer conference invitations, room arrangements, equipment, case lists, and participant coordination.
• Collaborate with radiology and pathology for case preparation.
• Document moderator data in the confidential registry database.
• Compile statistics for the annual cancer conference.
• Participate in weekly meetings to support accreditation, presentations, studies, and oncology program objectives.
• Completion of a training course for Tumor Registry.
• Experience in medical records and tumor registry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; or 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in or have graduated from an NCRA accredited program.
• ODS certification must be obtained within one year of completing the program (graduation from the NCRA accredited program).
• Proficient in online platforms and communication tools.
• Skilled in MS Office suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
