This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Manage legal responsibilities for assigned cases
β’ Diligently pursue files assigned to Staff Counsel by the Claims Department
β’ Develop and maintain documented strategies for case handling
β’ Organize and keep files that include pleadings, briefs, and memorandums
β’ Prepare and deliver timely status updates to claims handlers on significant activities, no more than every 60 days
β’ Ensure proper documentation and organization of files
β’ Respond swiftly to phone calls and written correspondence
β’ Utilize or ensure the use of case management software for notes, scheduling, billing, and case management
β’ Operate in compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal and ethical standards
β’ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a trial attorney
β’ Experience in handling insurance defense work is preferred
β’ Licensed member of the State Bar
β’ Must maintain all necessary licenses and continuing education requirements
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary
β’ Must reside in the Houston, TX area
β’ Ability to work remotely
