This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +42 more states.
β’ Manage an inventory of both litigated and non-litigated files independently.
β’ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys.
β’ Draft discovery documents, legal pleadings, trial briefs, and related materials utilizing independent analysis and judgment.
β’ Work closely with claims specialists to coordinate efforts.
β’ Represent and advocate for CSAA IG and its member insureds.
β’ Oversee all stages of personal injury litigation, which includes jury trials, motions, and arbitration hearings.
β’ Address complex legal matters and projects, including those outside of litigation.
β’ Identify issues with significant implications, high liability exposure, unique circumstances, or deviations from established guidelines.
β’ Escalate matters to senior staff for review and potential allocation of additional resources.
β’ Collaborate effectively with paralegals and support personnel.
β’ 5-8+ years of experience in insurance defense with courtroom and first or second chair trial experience.
β’ Juris Doctor (law degree) is required.
β’ A valid license to practice law in California is mandatory; candidates must be actively licensed and in good standing with the California Bar.
β’ Expertise in personal injury litigation, including liability assessment, causation, damages, coverage, and the tri-partite relationship.
β’ Capability to work collaboratively with assigned paralegal(s) and support staff.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication skills, organized and timely.
β’ Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and online research tools.
β’ Ability to advocate in a creative, persuasive, and effective manner.
β’ Capacity to think and act independently in the best interest of the client.
β’ Knowledge and understanding of legal ethics are essential.
β’ Willingness to travel as necessary for depositions, mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, arbitrations, trials, team meetings, and other in-person engagements.
β’ Candidates must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US.

β’ Eligibility for an annual bonus through the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), ranging from 8-12% of eligible pay.
