EEO Adjudicator/Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.

📋 Description

• Draft and finalize agency decisions (FADs), which is the primary responsibility of this role.

• Evaluate Reports of Investigation (ROIs) to ensure legal adequacy.

• Assist in the management of both informal and formal EEO complaints.

• Handle post-closure compliance and appeals work.

• Compose formal and intricate legal documents, such as accept/dismissal letters, appeal submissions, counselor’s reports, and memorandums on complaint status.

• Conduct legal research and perform editing tasks.

• Analyze facts and relevant case law.

• Provide support to the United States Department of Agriculture in resolving program civil rights complaints.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree is mandatory.

• Must be admitted to practice law in a US State or Territory.

• A minimum of five (5) years of legal practice experience is required.

• At least three (3) years of experience in Federal sector civil rights issues and/or handling federal sector EEO complaints is essential.

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience writing Final Agency Decision reports at the federal level.

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance is required.

• Must be a US citizen.

• Familiarity with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is necessary.

• Understanding of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is important.

• Knowledge of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act is required.

• Awareness of the Equal Pay Act is necessary.

• Knowledge of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act is required.

• Familiarity with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974 is essential.

• Outstanding writing abilities are a must.

• Proficient legal research and editing skills are essential.

• Ability to provide references and a writing sample during the interview process is required.
