Triage RN, Part Time Nights

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver expert virtual triage services in a clinical setting.

• Evaluate patients' presenting issues or primary complaints.

• Apply evidence-based triage protocols to determine acuity and formulate care advice along with next-step recommendations.

• Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.

• Create a positive first impression and serve as an advocate for patients.

• Manage incoming calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving inquiries while engaging providers as necessary.

• Ensure the communication cycle is complete.

• Design, implement, and modify individualized care plans based on patient needs, learning, and care assessments.

• Pose essential questions to evaluate patients' clinical conditions and modify approaches as required.

• Record all communications in the electronic medical record system.

• Schedule patient appointments with providers following established protocols.

• Adhere to department-specific triage protocols.

• Assist in coordinating appointments with Northwestern Medicine providers.

• Support the orientation of new staff members.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

• Engage in departmental quality enhancement activities.

• Utilize service recovery techniques to address issues or service failures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited RN program.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ambulatory care.

• Possession of a Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Illinois.

• Current AHA BLS Provider certification is required.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

• Specialty certification preferred upon eligibility.

• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.

• Capability to work effectively within a high-performing team.

• Availability for part-time overnight shifts, totaling 20 hours per week.

• Required availability for holidays and weekends.

• Commitment to three weekend shifts every two weeks (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

• Ability to work 8-hour shifts starting at 11:30 PM or 12-hour shifts beginning at 7:30 PM.

• Successful completion of a background check may be necessary.
