This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Deliver exceptional critical care, encompassing assessment, triage, and treatment from the moment of initial contact until care is transferred to the receiving facility.
• Ensure the safe transport of critical patients to suitable medical facilities while prioritizing safety throughout the entire transport process.
• Function as a travel clinician stationed at a base for 18 months, adhering to a rotating schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, including 24-hour shifts.
• Keep comprehensive documentation of patient care.
• Maintain clinical proficiency, necessary licensure, certifications, ongoing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA/HIPAA training, clinical rotations, and advanced procedures.
• Operate and regularly maintain aircraft medical equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions and ensuring adequate onboard supplies.
• Maintain the aircraft in a clean and orderly condition for quick response readiness.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete all required documentation.
• Assist with pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide pilot support, which includes radio communication, navigation, and visual observation activities.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings and adhere to established safety standards.
• Act as a flight resource for neonatal/pediatric personnel and carry out approved advanced skills and procedures.
• Engage in follow-up with patients and referring institutions, as well as participate in outreach marketing and educational activities.
• Mentor and/or orient new staff and students.
• Take part in meetings, activities, projects, and committees, including opportunities for research and publication.
• Travel over 50% of the time and perform other assigned responsibilities.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field is preferred.
• At least three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last 5 years, or as mandated by state/local EMS regulations.
• Pre-hospital experience is advantageous.
• Flight experience is beneficial for full-time travel nursing roles.
• Applicants must live at least 3 hours’ driving distance from Harris, NY; additional stipulations apply for those residing over 4 hours from the assigned location.
• Must demonstrate scheduling flexibility for assignments lasting up to 14 days.
• Weight must not exceed 225 pounds, including the weight of an empty flight suit and boots.
• Possess current RN license(s) for practicing states; a New York State Nursing License is mandatory.
• EMS or MICN certification/licensure as dictated by state regulations is required.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, or equivalent certifications, as well as TNCC/ITLS/PHTLS advanced provider certifications when mandated by state or county regulations.
• A specialty certification is required: CFRN, CCRN, or CEN.
• Completion of one approved advanced trauma course is required before finishing the third-rider orientation: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TNATC, or a CAMTS-approved course with an advanced skills lab.
• NRP certification must be obtained prior to completing third-rider orientation.
• NIMS Training IS 100, 200, 700, 800, and HazMat certification upon hire is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including 24-hour shifts, overtime, and being on-call.
