Travel Driver Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new Vehicle Transporters.

• Act as the primary trainer during a comprehensive 2-week training program.

• Educate new employees on how to maneuver, maintain, and operate car trailers and logistics equipment.

• Instruct on the safe loading of vehicles onto a 9-car hauler while ensuring no damage occurs.

• Facilitate both classroom instruction and hands-on training sessions.

• Mentor, coach, and provide constructive feedback to new hires.

• Employ various techniques to impart knowledge and cultivate skills.

• Utilize skills matrices, evaluation checklists, assessments, or similar tools.

• Offer ongoing education and assessments for existing drivers.

• Work in partnership with Logistics Managers to transition trainees from training to practical work.

• Assist with additional projects as necessary.

• Travel approximately 50% of the time, potentially more depending on business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Experience in system and on-the-job training is desirable.

• Must possess a CDL class A and maintain a clean driving record.

• Smith Systems training and/or certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain certification.

• Capability to bend, kneel, twist, squat, stand, and climb as necessary to secure loads.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• Skilled in using Word, spreadsheets, and other systems.

• A minimum of two years of CDL driving experience is required.

• Experience in vehicle hauling is preferred.

• Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities.

• Must maintain a DOT Medical card.

• Capable of developing individuals and teams to achieve organizational success.

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently.

• Should be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds for distances of up to 20 feet.

• Must be able to stand for extended periods and frequently stretch, reach, walk, stoop, push and/or pull.

• This role is classified as safety-sensitive.
