Trauma Clinical Data Specialist, Beginner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Abstract and oversee clinical quality data for hospital partners.

• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and extract registry/case information from unstructured patient medical records.

• Gather and report eligible Trauma cases in accordance with state mandates and national accrediting bodies.

• Submit precise data to designated registries and measure data repositories.

• Assist with ACS Accreditation utilizing NTDB/TQIP quality tools.

• Conduct timely abstraction and implement standards that uphold quality patient care.

• Remain informed on federal, state, payer, and other regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.

• Contribute to the development of data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, business rule documents, and team best practices.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task and process efficiency.

• Collaborate with and aid in the development of CDQS and SCDS team members.

• Engage in on-the-job training, continuing education, and CEU opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• AIS 15 Coding Certification is mandatory.

• A minimum of 6 months of experience in abstracting for a Trauma Registry at any Trauma Level.

• Experience with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate skills in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• High standards for precision and attention to detail.

• Technical competence and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.

• Capability to manage time effectively across multiple accounts with changing timelines and priorities.

• Accountable for maintaining the security and confidentiality of PHI.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
