This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct engineering analyses for drainage design related to transportation projects.
• Engage in a variety of transportation projects for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities across Florida and other states.
• Establish strong collaborative relationships with clients and team members.
• Uphold high project standards and strive to meet or exceed client expectations.
• Execute drainage design and production, encompassing calculations and the preparation of construction plans.
• Perform hydraulics and hydrology calculations utilizing suitable methodologies for transportation facilities.
• Create construction plans adhering to the relevant Department of Transportation standards.
• Recognize, communicate, and collaboratively resolve systematic challenges.
• Anticipate potential issues arising from evolving designs in other disciplines.
• Implement applicable drainage design policies, methods, practices, and procedures.
• Assist in the design of open and closed collection and conveyance systems.
• Contribute to the design of stormwater management facilities that comply with water quality and quantity regulations.
• Collaborate with a large, multi-state transportation team and receive technical and project management support.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with 4 years of experience as a Drainage Engineer, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.
• Experience in the design of drainage conveyance systems and plans compliant with state DOT standards.
• Proficiency in pond design, including grading, plan sheet development, hydrology, hydraulics, and control structure design.
• Familiarity with Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads, StormCad or equivalent CAD software, HY-8, ICPR, HEC-RAS, and MS Office.
• Working knowledge of Federal Highway Administration hydraulic circulars is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future.
