Transport Team Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Transport Operations Team and the team of drivers.

• Organize daily resources for both the company and third-party providers.

• Efficiently assign drivers and vehicles to loads while taking into account holidays, absences, drivers’ working hours, and WTD regulations.

• Schedule driver start times to achieve site dispatch KPIs.

• Maintain proactive communication with third-party hauliers to ensure adherence to collection times.

• Coordinate with shunting operations for pre-loading and unloading processes.

• Provide drivers with precise start times, load details, and directions.

• Ensure that orders are dispatched and delivered in accordance with customer specifications and in the appropriate condition.

• Notify collection or delivery points of any delays.

• Strive to achieve and uphold service levels in collaboration with other departments.

• Allocate equipment to align with maintenance and service schedules.

• Adhere to health and safety policies and report any accidents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in transport within an FMCG setting.

• Strong communication skills to provide accurate information.

• Capacity to work effectively and precisely under pressure.

• Capability to function as part of a team or independently.

• Knowledge and experience with tachograph regulations and driving rules.

• CPC National qualification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office packages.

• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
