This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist with Transmission Operations & Planning initiatives that emphasize grid reliability, power system management, and innovative energy technologies.
• Test and debug Python software, including the Safe-T Net application.
• Offer insights regarding possible software defects and enhancements.
• Perform literature reviews on international operational practices, grid regulations, standards, market frameworks, and interconnection protocols.
• Compile and analyze publicly accessible data concerning major grid incidents such as outages.
• Condense research findings into technical briefs.
• Available to work at least during the Fall semester of 2026 (August–December).
• Currently enrolled in a Masters or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in programming with Python, including debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in reviewing technical literature and synthesizing findings into concise written summaries.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research-focused setting.
• Eligibility for Social Security.
• Access to State Disability Insurance.
• Inclusion in Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
• Relocation assistance is not available for positions requiring relocation to an EPRI office.
