Translator, Portuguese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Convert English software UI text provided as keys while maintaining meaning, clarity, tone, variables, and formatting standards.

• Translate online marketing materials into engaging and natural European Portuguese tailored for the target audience.

• Consistently apply Circle’s translation guidelines, glossary, and style guide.

• Utilize Circle-approved key-based translation tools and other sanctioned systems, including authorized AI tools.

• Review and address quality-assurance issues identified during the linguistic review process.

• Communicate your availability, standard turnaround times, and any delivery risks asynchronously via Slack.

• Collaborate with Circle and the other Portuguese translator to share tasks and ensure continuity during absences.

• Work independently and asynchronously with Circle and the other Portuguese translator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven professional experience in translating software user-interface text into European Portuguese.

• Proven professional experience in translating online marketing content into European Portuguese.

• Professional experience using key-based translation or localization tools rather than solely document-based translation workflows.

• Native-level proficiency in European Portuguese (pt-PT).

• Strong understanding of English source content as demonstrated through relevant professional experience.

• Capability to work independently and adhere to detailed language guidance.

• Ability to make informed judgment calls when the source context is incomplete.

• Willingness to engage in a review loop by investigating, reporting, and rectifying quality-assurance issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR C2 or equivalent).

• Familiarity with online communities, creator-economy products, or software utilized by creators.

• Experience in localizing content for SaaS, membership, community, or other digital products.
