Transformer Service & Test Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee a team responsible for the assembly, vacuum oil filling, testing, and maintenance/repair of transformers.

• Engage in hands-on assembly, repairs, and maintenance of transformers and substation apparatus equipment.

• Execute mechanical and electrical connections on or within transformers.

• Manage oil processors and conduct transformer tests, such as Doble and Megger testing.

• Carry out internal tank and LTC inspections, perform leak and gasket repairs, replace parts, and paint as needed.

• Process mineral oil, ester-based, and synthetic electrical insulating fluids utilizing vacuum processing equipment.

• Assemble and disassemble transformers for commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning purposes.

• Collaborate with customer contacts throughout the duration of projects.

• Supervise technicians and offer project leadership to guarantee safe, timely, and high-quality project completion.

• Provide technical assistance to the sales team for quotation purposes.

• Accurately complete and submit project documentation in a timely manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required experience in transformers and substation apparatus.

• Proficiency in computer usage and a consistent display of professionalism is essential.

• Willingness to travel away from home, whether by driving or flying.

• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to acquire new skills are necessary.

• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing is mandatory.

• A clean criminal record check and the ability to obtain security clearances are required.

• Must be actively eligible to work in the United States.

• Experience in substation apparatus and transformer work is essential.

• Familiarity with Doble and Megger test equipment is advantageous.

• A valid driver's license is required; possessing a CDL license is a plus.
