Transactional Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Assist in the financial operations of Ceres Software Group’s Hungarian divisions

• Review, validate, and enter supplier invoices into the ERP system

• Address invoice discrepancies and inquiries from suppliers

• Prepare supplier payments for approval and processing

• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any outstanding issues

• Reconcile bank accounts, including those in foreign currencies

• Process and record daily banking transactions, involving foreign currency when necessary

• Handle sales invoicing and cash allocation tasks as needed

• Monitor customer account balances and assist with collection efforts when required

• Reconcile both customer and supplier accounts

• Update Excel-based reconciliation and support documents

• Assist with VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and other mandatory tax reports

• Aid in month-end closing processes and prepare related schedules

• Conduct handovers to Management Accountants at the end of each month

• Enhance current processes and systems

• Contribute to the integration of newly acquired business units

• Foster relationships with finance and business stakeholders

• Perform ad hoc finance tasks and support the overall corporate strategy

• Ensure adherence to Hungarian accounting and tax regulations

• Stay informed on relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory changes and assist with process updates

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar accounting qualification (e.g., Hungarian Chartered Accountant) is preferred

• Prior experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bookkeeping, or Transactional Accounting roles

• Proven experience in performing reconciliations for bank, supplier, and customer accounts

• Familiarity with preparing Hungarian VAT returns and associated reconciliations is advantageous

• Knowledge of local statutory requirements, supplier invoice processing, bank reconciliation, and local bookkeeping practices

• Strong commercial awareness and analytical thinking

• Proficient in Excel

• Experience with ERP and accounting software is essential

• Familiarity with Novitax and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) is a plus

• Fluent in Hungarian and possess good working proficiency in English
