Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete accounting function, which includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, and invoicing.

• Direct and oversee the monthly closing process from start to finish, ensuring both accuracy and punctuality.

• Prepare and evaluate journal entries, as well as account and bank reconciliations, along with supporting schedules in line with GAAP standards.

• Act as the main contact for the annual financial statement audit.

• Handle auditor requests and guarantee a streamlined and organized audit process.

• Sustain and continually enhance accounting policies and internal controls.

• Oversee daily bookkeeping utilizing QuickBooks Online.

• Collaborate with the VP of Finance on technical accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, equity/stock-based compensation, capitalization, and amortization.

• Assist with sales tax compliance.

• Assess and implement automation tools as the company grows.

• Create and establish scalable processes and systems to accommodate rapid expansion.

• Report directly to the VP of Finance.

• Have the potential to advance to managing Staff Accountants and Billing Specialists.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including time spent at a startup or a rapidly growing early-stage company.

• In-depth hands-on knowledge of QuickBooks Online.

• Demonstrated experience managing a monthly closing process from initiation to reporting.

• Experience in leading or significantly supporting a financial statement audit, including managing relationships and requests from auditors.

• Strong comprehension of GAAP and technical accounting principles.

• Exceptional organizational abilities and comfort in a fast-paced environment while enhancing processes and procedures.

• Experience with hardware and fixed asset schedules.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering teams.

• Excellent analytical capabilities, including problem-solving in Excel with large datasets.

• Familiarity with Ramp or similar expense management systems.

• Familiarity with Stripe or comparable billing/payment processing platforms.

• Experience with sales tax automation software such as Avalara, Anrok, or Numeral.

• CPA or CPA candidate.

• Experience within a SaaS or subscription-based revenue model.

• Previous experience managing or mentoring junior accounting personnel.

• Some FP&A experience, assisting management with analytical projects.
