Training Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee government-wide 1GX training initiatives from the assessment of learning needs through to implementation and evaluation.

• Perform analyses on learning needs, audience profiles, role responsibilities, and business processes.

• Create role-specific training strategies and identify delivery methods, which may include instructor-led sessions, virtual training, blended formats, and self-paced learning.

• Design, develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive learning solutions.

• Produce e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, virtual training, videos and multimedia resources, digital adoption materials, job aids, quick reference guides, and performance support tools.

• Utilize adult learning principles, instructional design methods, accessibility standards, and user-centered design approaches.

• Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions for audiences with varying technical expertise.

• Simplify complex ERP systems, business processes, and workflows into easily understandable training content.

• Collect and verify requirements from business process owners, subject matter experts (SMEs), technical teams, vendors, program leadership, and change networks.

• Manage feedback from stakeholders and reconcile differing requirements or suggestions.

• Coordinate training schedules, dependencies, priorities, deliverables, risks, and communications with stakeholders.

• Establish and uphold training governance, including intake and prioritization, review and approval processes, quality assurance, version control, accessibility assessments, and content management.

• Assess training effectiveness using learner feedback, evaluations, performance metrics, adoption indicators, and other educational analytics.

• Analyze training outcomes and implement ongoing improvements.

• Employ approved digital adoption, multimedia, collaboration, content development, and AI-enabled tools to enhance training and learner support.

• Ensure that training materials comply with Government of Alberta policies, accessibility standards, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Offer coaching, guidance, and mentorship to junior trainers and learning contributors.

• Ensure training content remains accurate, up-to-date, consistent, accessible, and aligned with 1GX updates.

⛳️ Requirements

• Attestation - Conflict of Interest.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Adult Education or Instructional Design.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting learning needs analysis, audience assessment, and role assessment.

• At least 2 years of experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive learning solutions.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating instructor-led and virtual training for a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience in designing or configuring digital adoption, embedded guidance, and walkthroughs.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience in creating accessible e-learning, instructional videos, audio, or multimedia content.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience in gathering requirements, facilitating reviews, and reconciling competing demands.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience in utilizing AI-enabled tools for instructional design, analysis, and content development.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience applying learner feedback, assessments, performance metrics, adoption indicators, and learning analytics.

• Preferred: 2 years of experience in training related to ERP systems, such as Finance, HCM or Payroll, and Supply Chain.
